The Strategy First University is a private owned and started with a professional teaching, training and higher education provider, which has been an alternative institute to tertiary education in Myanmar since 2010. The institute was founded by Mr. Aung Chit Khin whose genuine desire is to contribute to Myanmar business industry advancement and to create the opportunities for learners.

The institute delivers a unique learning experience and designate the study programs for students with postgraduate degrees, bachelor degrees, diplomas and professional certificates where these qualifications are accredited from the globally ranked universities. Each programme upholds the high standards of learning and tailored towards the needs of local people and enterprises to compete on international business environment. The Strategy First officially announced and became a university on March 2019 with the record of over thirty thousand alumni members, and approximately ten thousand active students who are taking the various education programs and vocational training annually.

Strategy First was officially announced as ‘Strategy First University’ in March 2019.
Strategy First delivers a unique learning experience for Myanmar citizens to study and earn postgraduate degrees, bachelor degrees, diplomas and certificates that are accredited by competitive international partners and respected globally while working in their home country.  It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional diploma programmes; for students and working professionals at various stages of life. Each program upholds the same high standard of learning and prepares students to compete on an international level.

Strategy First is rooted in an earnest understanding of the local environment and its existing educational gaps and economic opportunities. Thus, its structure is tailored towards the needs of Myanmar people and its enterprises. Most importantly, it provides students with internationally accredited diplomas and degrees from globally ranked universities with which it has partnered.

Strategy First also engages directly with Myanmar businesses by providing various workshops, corporate trainings, and pertinent programmes such as innovation, creativity and customer relationship marketing. It encourages positive business practices by promoting as well as demonstrating the triple bottom-line principle of people, planet, and profit.

Lastly, Strategy First believes in developing strategic relationships with the government and develop the programmes that benefit the people or less developed states and regions. As such, Strategy First works in collaboration with the Chin State Government to run a Chin State Business university.  Similarly , Strategy First manages programmes in Rakhine State in alliance with the Rakhine Government to provide the people of the state with competitive business programmes. These programmes are demonstrative examples of how Strategy First prioritizes people over profit.

Founder and Managing Director

Mr. Aung Chit Khin is a founder of Strategy First University and the Managing Director of ACK & Co Services Company Limited. He is an Entrepreneur, Marketer and Educator with an active interest in promoting roles and responsibilities of business organizations in Myanmar’s development. He got a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Nottingham.

He also got Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (Dip M & PG Dip M) from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), UK. He is an alumni of International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). He is also a member of SME Development Agency under Ministry of Industry as well as an executive committee member of Myanmar Young Entrepreneur Association.

Dr. U Sein Min
Academic Director

Dr. U Sein Min is the Academic Director of Strategy First University. He served senior positions, including the Associate Professor of Economics Department of Yangon University of Distance Education. He was also appointed as a visiting lecturer of Singaporean Private Business Schools, from 2001 to 2015.

He received his Bachelor degree of Commerce at Yangon Institute of Economics in November 1977 and his Master degree of Commerce from the same institute in 1983. He was a scholar of DAAD in West Germany from 1986 to 1991 reading for the Ph. D in Marketing at the Passau University.

Currently he is teaching marketing and business related subjects and undertaking research projects in business fields at Strategy First University.

Dean, School of Engineering

Dr. Daw Nilar Win has served as Dean for School of Engineering at Strategy First University since 2017. She attended Rangoon Institute of Technology for her Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering. She then received scholarship from the Free University of Brussels, Belgium. After completing her Postgraduate Diploma in Hydro power at the Free University of Brussels in 1988, she was offered a scholarship for Ph.D by the same university.

In 1994, when she received her Ph. D, she came back to Yangon and worked as a lecturer at Rangoon Institute of Technology (RIT) until 1999.

Between 2000 and 2017, she worked for INTI International University and University of Nottingham in Malaysia by taking teaching, researching and managing positions, including as an internal assessor, researcher and head of discipline.

She is now actively taking her roles at Strategy First University and helping learners from Engineering industry.
